DAY ONE -SALT LAKE CITY AND ANTELOPE ISLAND

We flew into Salt Lake City and met our group at the airport the following day to begin our journey. Forty-eight brave souls, Chris, our fearless guide, Tristan our skilled driver, and Dan and his wife our travel agents from Tropical Sails, Arizona, all arrived on time! After boarding, and stopping to pick up essential supplies, we drove to the Great Salt Lake, and Antelope Island overlook. This was an incredible spot. Unfortunately we only stoppedat the overlook, and didn't get a chance to visit the beaches. The sand samples shown come from Bridger Bay Beach. These were sent to me many years ago. The entire collection is visible at my old sand site. Remember, if you visit there you must use the back key to get back here. We ended our first day in Idaho Falls, and had a magnificent view of a Morman Temple from our hotel room.

We were chauffered from Idaho Falls by Tristan to West Yellowstone, Idaho. After checking in, we went to the Geyser Basin. This is what people visualize when they think of Yellowstone. It is an amazing place.

Of course the major reason anyone comes to Yellowstone is for a viewing of Old Faithful and (s)he didn't disappoint. We were surprised at the quiet with the eruption. We expected a lot more noise! Shown below is our group and others watching the display.
